Here are just a few of the attractions we have lined up for this event:- A Victorian Tea Party by “The Tea Works” accompanied by literary readings from classical horror literature.
- Musical selections from “Rocky Horror Picture Show” performed by “Blue Mouse Theatre”.
- A beer and wine tasting (21 and over only) by Abby’s on Broadway featuring gothic-themed wines and seasonal beers
- Selections from “Phantom of the Opera” performed by local musical theater students
- “Photo in a Coffin” photo booth sponsored by Rain City Hearse Club with proceeds benefiting Itsmybag.org and StandUp for Kids Tacoma.
- A SpecialFX Make-up booth to do special effects, horror, and Halloween make-up for donations to benefit StandUp for Kids Tacoma.
- A Little Touch of Magick Grand Opening on the Middle Floor.
- Very special guest musicians, "Deadly Nightshade Botanical Society", a famous Tacoma-based steampunk-themed band will perform live and will be promoting their latest release "Carnival of the Poisoned Rose".

Greetings, Seattle People in Black.
So, while I do have something of a sordid history with some elements of the SeaGoth community, I am, nonetheless, relatively newly residing in town and interested in re- or newly acquainting myself with people here.
(Or, if you'd rather, providing fair warning that I'll be haunting events from time to time moving forward.)
In short, if anyone would be inclined to chat at some point at a GASP night or some other event from which I might emerge not smelling like an ashtray, I'd love to hear from you. Likewise, if people have any recommendation on social opportunities (e.g. once upon a time there was a regular goth coffee event, but, then, that was 7+ years ago), I would be very much obliged.

THE OLD LADY WHO INVENTED GOITH – the debut novel from Mick Mercer
Having written about Goth since it began, with a past in fanzines (starting in 1976) and music journalism, I guess it isn’t surprising what lies at the heart of my first novel, THE OLD LADY WHO INVENTED GOTH, but this is not a typical book. For a start the first edition is illustrated in a new way for a novel, while the story is a prequel to what we know and understand. 100 years ago Hermione M. Lee wanted what we have now, but it simply didn’t exist. As she was just fourteen, and a surprisingly foul-mouthed child, with The Great War brewing quietly in the distance there wasn’t a great deal she could do about it, or anything. That never stopped her trying, from the moment she found creativity crackling beneath her fingernails and in a busy life Hermione was rarely inert for long. A champion of darkness, and yet a vanquisher of gloom, Hermione M. Lee is a Gothic blueprint in action, living a life steeped in sin and intrigue, but justifiably so.

Wow! Last night was amazing!! Thank you to all the participants, judges, sponsors, pageant organizers,volunteers, past title holders, and attendees of the 2011 Mr & Ms Gothic Seattle Pageant! Also, a big thank you to our emcee Lance, Dj Slowdive, JQ, the staff and Management of the Mercury for allowing us to have the pageant there, SOMHOW for the blessings, and last but not least, a big heart felt thank you to Eric Pope and Lori Dyann, our 2010 Mr & Ms Gothic Seattle title holders, for an amazing year!

So do you like horror, the Vagina Monologues and entertaining people? Also, do you have a vagina? And live in Seattle?
If you have said yes to these then you should let me know.
In honor of Women in Horror Recognition Month a friend and I are putting together an impromptu performance. We will be needing women who want to write a piece inspired by The Vagina Monologues and horror, done from the point of view of a zombie, vampire, serial killer or other horrific entity. We will be performing on the last weekend of the month at a location that is TBA (and will likely be public)
